About

We built the money app we couldn't find

Stridefly brings your accounts, budget and investments together in one app on your phone, so you can see where you stand and whether you're getting ahead.

How it started

We held accounts at several banks and brokerages and wanted one view of our spending, net worth and holdings. We used several personal-finance, banking and brokerage apps, but none gave us the complete, dependable view we wanted. Connections broke. Brokerage data was stale. We still kept a spreadsheet alongside the apps to fill in the gaps.

Even with all that, we couldn't easily answer the questions that mattered. How should our budget change when our income does? How much runway do we have? And the bigger one: are we on track?

Privacy mattered to us too. Most finance apps keep a copy of their customers' accounts on their servers, and some use that data to market to them. We didn't want one more company holding our financial history.

So we built it for ourselves

Stridefly started as the app we wanted to use every day. Every account adds up to one net worth, your investments add up to one portfolio, and your budget sits right alongside.

The first version came together quickly. Getting it to our standard took much longer. A bank or brokerage often updates investment accounts only once a day, so Stridefly works to show each account's value during the trading day. When it can't, it shows the last value it trusts and says how old it is. We test every change that touches your money, and before each release we check the app on our own accounts. Correct numbers aren't enough if the app is hard to use, so we sweat the design and the words on every screen too.

Independent, and on your side

We're a small, independent company, and we develop Stridefly in-house. We don't sell ads, we're not a data broker, and we never sell your personal information or share your financial data for advertising or marketing.

Your data stays with you

Your accounts, balances and transactions are saved on your phone and sync through your own Apple account, not a database of ours. When you connect a bank, you sign in through Plaid or your bank, and we never see your login. How Stridefly handles your data →

Where we are now

Stridefly is in private beta. We're inviting people in small groups so we can hear what works for them, what doesn't, and what would make Stridefly more useful, and improve it before it reaches the App Store. If you also keep a spreadsheet next to your finance apps, we built Stridefly for you.

Stridefly helps you track and plan. It doesn't give investment advice or make trades.
